About The Firm
Providing Representation On Appeals And Complex Civil Litigation
Whether you are the defendant or plaintiff, my representation focuses on the vigorous pursuit of your claim with an additional focus on settlement negotiations. I provide representation in civil litigation cases in all courts and on civil and criminal appeals in the Supreme Court of the United States, Rhode Island Supreme Court, Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Massachusetts Appeals Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st and 9th Circuits. Additionally, I can provide assistance with oral advocacy and legal writing.
Deep Roots In The Rhode Island Legal Community
I earned my law degree in 1980 and began my career as a law clerk to the Associate Justice (and later Chief Justice) Joseph R. Weisberger. When my clerkship ended, I spent three years as an associate at a general practice firm before spending over a decade at the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office working in roles that included chief, appellate unit and six years as Deputy Attorney General.
From there, my career included stops with several law firms focused on different practice areas including personal injury, insurance defense, civil, criminal and appellate litigation. I launched my solo practice in 2003 while also serving as part-time probate judge for the city of Woonsocket (2003-13) and as part-time judge of the Woonsocket Municipal Court (2016-present).
